"Is Cholosterol Theory Relevant?"

Globally, in particular for India, the life style, chronic ailments are on the increase. India is going to be the diabetes capital of the universe by 2020, with 52 million type-2 diabetes patients. Besides, cardiac related ailments are going to be the number one killer in the coming years. Not far, the second place of the killer diseases is indicated to be cancer itself. Though many theories are propagated regarding the ever burgeoning number of the diseases, and active role of micronutrients are known to the scientists, nobody is taking the challenge to publicize the same for the laymen. Not even the academic people are interested to have the micronutrients theory taking into limelight.

It is a known facts that even from the pre-graduation period, medical students are compelled to believe that drugs are the only panacea for any diseases. Drugs are prescribed without rationale, in excess doses as well as without proper reasoning. Depletion of the micronutrients due to various reasons is one of the main reasons for the present situation, in spite of the growth of medical science.

As many know, Chromium and Magnesium are the main nutrients for diabetes. Selenium is the primary nutrient for cancer prevention, T3-T4 conversion, CVS normal activity, pregnancy, sperm motility etc. Magnesium, Manganese for mental tranquility, Zinc, Phosphorus, Calcium for reproduction, Iron, Copper, Nickel for blood.

  • Do anybody think twice as to why we are running short of these essential nuclei for 550 odd enzymes of the body, which regulate the entire complex human body.
  • Why nobody publicize the theory of cellular malnutrition of myocardium that causes major heart attacks, than the man-made Cholesterol Theory?
  • Do anybody publicize that any deficiency of these micronutrients lead to enzymatic imbalance, leading to cascading effect, which leads to the so called chronic ailments.
  • Do anybody give clear instructions how to avoid most of the processed food, which lack the essential micronutrients.
  • Do anybody announce the bad effect of present trend of softness in prepared food, by eliminating all the bran related covering, which contained most of the micronutrients.
  • Is it an intentional vicious cycle created by the giant MNCs, which try to keep this basic knowledge of ‘balanced diet’ blindfolded?
  • Is it high time, we should look into the Nature and find ways to protect and preserve the quantum of micronutrients in the food, instead of craving for taste and money.
  • Is it high time we should educate everybody how to procure and prepare food without losing these vital elements?
As a social animal, I feel we should raise voice for better food policy for preservation of the micronutrients in vegetables and whole grains, as well as rich lean meats. We all take milk of a cows, who never eat leafy grass, we eat chicken grown in in-house atmosphere feeding with artificial food and drugs. Where shall the food from these contains minerals and nutrients? Leave away the poisons of insecticides as well as the mounting stress affecting health. I talk about the essentiality to life, the elements required for the primary body functions. The present method of agriculture and food processing deplete the nutrients and we are fed with worthless.

Let us make the laymen aware of the significance of ‘proper’ food habit for better health.
